Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?
CBT has a focus on the here and now- 'this is what I think..., it makes me feel..., this is what I do in response...'

It is the most researched psychotherapy and so can be measured as a treatment for anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders and a whole range of other problem areas people experience. CBT can help you break these problems down from the overwhelming part they play in your life to smaller more manageable blocks. In effect it reminds you how to be your own therapist in life.

Here at the Docs CBT is offered on a Friday. After assessment, this may be a service you agree to be a part of. The number of sessions will be agreed between you and your therapist as part of your treatment contract. This service does not work in isolation from other community, hospital or specialist therapies like psychology and psychotherapy.
